In 2020, I purchased what was supposed to be a brand-new vehicle from Honda Marmara. I specifically chose to buy directly from the dealership to avoid any surprises and have peace of mind. Unfortunately, my experience turned out to be the opposite.
After some concerns, I had the vehicle inspected by two independent experts, and both reports confirmed that the right-side doors and fender had been repainted—a clear indication that this vehicle was not factory-original or had suffered prior damage. This was incredibly humiliating, especially as I had visitors from out of town with me when the truth came out.
When I confronted Honda Marmara, they completely denied any wrongdoing, claiming such a thing was impossible. But no matter what they say, they should have disclosed this issue at the time of sale. A repainted panel on a vehicle sold as “new” falls under “concealed defect” and is legally questionable.
When I tried to reason with them—asking how they would handle it if a new buyer discovered the same issue after payment and registration—the staff member mocked me. When I offered to sell the car back, they made a laughably low offer, despite previously claiming there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.
I also reported this to Honda’s central office, but no one followed up despite repeated attempts.
To anyone considering a vehicle from Honda Marmara: always bring your own inspector. Don’t trust the “new car” label blindly. Once the vehicle is registered, they’ll say, “It’s yours now” and leave you to deal with the issue alone.
