Holiday Inn Beylikdüzü Increased My Room Rate by 67% When I Asked to Extend My Stay
I had previously stayed at Holiday Inn Beylikdüzü and was satisfied with my first experience, which is why I chose the hotel again. During my first stay, I booked one night through a website at a very reasonable rate. When I wanted to extend my stay the following day, the hotel offered me the option to extend at a rate close to the price I had originally paid online. I appreciated this approach at the time, as it gave me a positive impression of the hotel’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
Approximately one month later, I chose the same hotel again and, for a stay between August 30 and September 1, 2026, I purchased one night of accommodation through an agency for 3,300 TL. When I went to the front desk the following day to extend my stay for another night, I was told that the extension could not be offered at the 3,300 TL rate. Instead, I was quoted approximately 5,500 TL, with the explanation that there was a trade show at TÜYAP during those dates and the hotel was very busy.
What disappointed me was the fact that the extension terms previously offered to me at the same hotel were handled completely differently this time, with a very significant price difference. As an existing guest who wanted to continue my stay, being told that the previously available extension option was no longer possible solely because of the trade show demand gave me the impression that the hotel was taking the approach of increasing room prices because occupancy was expected to be high and rooms could be sold at higher rates during those dates.
As a customer, my basic expectation is that the hotel should maintain a more reasonable and consistent pricing approach, especially toward guests who have stayed at the property before and have chosen to return. Being quoted approximately 5,500 TL to extend a stay that I had purchased for 3,300 TL just one day earlier represents an increase of approximately 67%, which was a significant disappointment.
I understand that hotel prices can change based on supply and demand. However, the sharp change in the approach toward an existing guest and the complete removal of the flexibility that had previously been offered damaged my trust in the hotel. I also felt the need to share this experience so that other guests do not encounter a similar situation.
My intention is not to dispute the fact that prices may vary depending on demand, but to ask the hotel to review the pricing policy applied in this situation and consider adopting a more transparent, consistent, and customer-focused approach toward guests who are already staying at the property.
