HalalBooking Currency Dispute — Refund Process Ignored Current Euro Rate

In January 2025, I made a reservation through HalalBooking for Crystal Water World Hotel and completed the payment in Turkish Lira (₺) based on the Euro exchange rate on that day. Due to unavoidable circumstances, I canceled my reservation in October 2025.

After the cancellation, I received an email from HalalBooking showing the refund amount in euros. However, the actual refund was calculated based on the exchange rate from the date of the original payment — not the current rate on the refund date. As a result, I suffered a loss of approximately ₺25,000 (≈ $595) due to the exchange-rate difference.

When I contacted customer service, I was told that since the payment had been made in Turkish Lira, the refund was issued using the same rate as at the time of purchase. However, the email clearly stated the refund amount in euros, and according to HalalBooking’s own policy and terms, the refund should have been processed using the current exchange rate on the refund date.

In addition, reaching HalalBooking by phone is nearly impossible — I have only been able to receive responses via email, which has made communication very slow.

I am requesting that my loss caused by the exchange-rate discrepancy be compensated, and that the ₺25,000 difference be refunded to me as soon as possible.
