GoToGate Refund Refused After EgyptAir Flight Cancelled By Airline
I purchased a ticket through Go To Gate for an EgyptAir flight from Doha to Cairo on 28/02/2026 at 13:45, with ticket number 0779553354010, issued in the name of passenger TUKA A***. The ticket was paid by credit card in the name of HASAN A***, and the contact details used in the booking are phone number 0097430323*** and email address hasan_m***@hotmail.com. On the day of travel I went to the airport, checked in for the journey, and was waiting at the gate with my boarding pass ready to travel. Then I was informed that the flight was cancelled due to the war situation, and I was told to go back home. This cancellation was made by the airline and not by me; I never requested any cancellation. After that, I contacted EgyptAir to request my money back. They informed me that I had to contact the agency, Go To Gate. When I contacted Go To Gate, they later sent me an email stating that I had cancelled my trip and therefore I was not entitled to a refund. This is not true, because I did not cancel the flight at any point; the flight was cancelled by the airline due to the war, and I was at the gate ready to travel with my boarding pass. Because of this, I am being unfairly treated as if I cancelled the booking myself, even though I did everything correctly as a passenger and the flight did not operate. I kindly request a full refund of the total ticket amount back to the original credit card used for payment, since the flight was cancelled by the airline and I did not receive the service I paid for.
