Gemini Confirms No Active Membership, but Bank Charge Still Unexplained
On 05/26/2026, at 8:59:48 p.m., while reviewing my account activity, I noticed a transaction of $42, labeled "YDS WWW. AL/US," had gone through on my Akbank account without my knowledge or consent. I had previously purchased a one-time, one-week Gemini membership entirely on my own, but aside from that, I never signed up for any monthly or annual membership, and I never set up any automatic payment instructions. I never saved my card information, nor did I set up any standing instructions through my bank account. This latest charge taken from my account isn't mine, and this transaction happened without my authorization. When I checked my Gemini account, along with all possible memberships through Google Play, the Apple Store, and mobile/web, as well as my emails, I found no record of any active or inactive membership, or anything related to this amount. When I spoke with Gemini, they confirmed that no membership shows up on my account and that the transaction was unauthorized. When I spoke with Akbank, they opened a dispute claim for this transaction. I've been put at a real disadvantage because of this. I'm requesting that this unauthorized, non-consented payment be canceled and the $42 be refunded to me, and that the necessary review and security checks be carried out to prevent this kind of transaction from happening again, with written confirmation provided to me.
