I Face Severe Rust Problem on Franke Dishwasher Racks

The interior racks of my Franke dishwasher have become severely rusted. Since I have a small child, I find this situation extremely concerning from both a hygiene and health perspective, and therefore, I am unable to use the machine safely. When I contacted the authorized Franke service in Ankara, I was told that a technician must visit and inspect the product, for which I would have to pay a ₺750 service fee, after which they would decide what action to take. However, the racks are clearly corroded, and it is obvious that they need to be replaced — there’s no need for a technician visit just to confirm visible rust damage. The service team insisted that the issue was caused by the type of detergent I use and refused to replace the racks since the warranty has expired. However, according to consumer complaint platforms, there are over 700 reports of rack rusting in Franke dishwashers, indicating a widespread manufacturing or material defect. This clearly suggests that the protective coating and paint used in production are not of sufficient quality. I request that Franke take responsibility for this recurring issue, replace the rusted racks free of charge, and resolve the health and safety concerns caused by this manufacturing flaw.

Hello, After receiving the company’s response, I called them. They told me the baskets rusted because I used them incorrectly. I said, “If I used them wrong, did hundreds of others also do the same? There are hundreds of complaints on Xolvie website about your dishwasher baskets rusting.” I also reminded them that they had previously blamed the detergent. I explained that the baskets might not have been coated with proper material and that there could be a defect in the materials used. For this reason, I requested a free replacement of my baskets, but they refused. They said the baskets cost ₺6,000 and offered me a 50% discount, saying their service team would come and replace them. However, I haven’t heard anything from them since last week. My issue is still not resolved.

Both baskets of our Franke fdws 712 a XS dishwasher, which we have been unable to use for a year due to rusting and decaying baskets, were replaced by the company today for 3,000 TL with a 50% discount. However, the rust from the baskets has partially spread to the basket holders inside the machine as well; they said it would go away if we washed it, we'll see. I hope this rusting and decaying problem does not recur with the new baskets.
