Flydubai Refuses Full Refund Despite War and Security Risks in Dubai

On March 11, 2026, after spending approximately 45 minutes unsuccessfully trying to reach a customer service representative, I felt compelled to submit this complaint.

Through Enuygun, on January 18, I purchased round-trip airline tickets between Istanbul and Dubai for travel dates of March 18 (departure) and March 24 (return). The outbound flight was operated by AnadoluJet and the return flight by Flydubai. The total amount paid for the booking was approximately ₺38,000. My reservation number is W7Q21F.

Due to the ongoing conflict in the region, missile attacks, escalating tensions, and the serious security risks being reported, I no longer consider this trip safe. I have no intention of placing my own safety or the safety of my family at risk by traveling to an area affected by military activity and uncertainty.

Despite these concerns, my tickets have not been canceled. Instead, I was informed that my flight date had been moved to March 20 without my consent.

What makes this situation even more frustrating is that the hotel reservation I had made in Dubai, despite being under a non-refundable policy, was fully canceled by the hotel because of the security situation. The hotel recognized the extraordinary circumstances and refunded my payment in full without any deductions. It is difficult to understand why a business operating directly within the region can show such flexibility and concern for customer safety while Flydubai, Enuygun, and AnadoluJet continue to insist that no meaningful refund can be offered unless the flight is officially canceled.

I find it unacceptable that I am being told to wait until the last 24 hours before departure in the hope that the flight may eventually be canceled, while at the same time being offered only heavily penalized refund options. This approach places all of the risk on the passenger while the airline retains the funds.

The fact that my flight schedule has already been altered without my approval demonstrates that normal operations have already been affected. Yet I am still being told that because the flight technically remains active, I am not entitled to a penalty-free cancellation.

In my view, this situation ignores the realities of the ongoing conflict and fails to take passenger safety concerns seriously. I should not be financially penalized for refusing to travel to a destination affected by war, security threats, and operational disruptions.

My request is straightforward. Due to the ongoing conflict and legitimate concerns regarding personal safety, I do not wish to undertake this journey. I respectfully request that Flydubai, Enuygun, and the relevant travel providers recognize these circumstances as a force majeure event and process a full refund of my ticket without any penalties, deductions, or cancellation fees.

I also request a written explanation regarding the involuntary flight schedule change and a prompt resolution of this matter. I expect my full ticket payment to be refunded as soon as possible so that I am not forced to bear the financial burden of circumstances entirely beyond my control.
