Flydubai Has Not Refunded Our Tickets After We Canceled Due to War

I am writing regarding a refund request for three round-trip airline tickets purchased through Trip.com for travel with Flydubai.

We purchased round-trip tickets for three passengers for travel between Istanbul and Dubai. Our itinerary was scheduled as follows: departure from Istanbul to Dubai on April 1 at 02:50 and return from Dubai on April 5 at 21:55.

Shortly after purchasing the tickets, the situation in the region changed dramatically due to the outbreak of armed conflict and escalating security concerns. In addition, our flight experienced delays, further increasing our concerns about the safety and reliability of travel in the area.

Because of these extraordinary circumstances and genuine concerns for our personal safety, we decided not to undertake the journey. Our decision was not based on convenience or a change of plans, but entirely on the risks created by the conflict and the uncertainty surrounding travel in the region.

We promptly informed both Trip.com and Flydubai of the situation through detailed emails written in English. Flydubai responded with a general message stating that they had received a large number of similar requests and that the matter would be reviewed. However, after that initial response, no meaningful update, resolution, or final decision was provided.

Since then, we have struggled to find a responsible contact person and have been unable to obtain a satisfactory answer regarding our refund request. The lack of communication and the absence of a clear resolution have prolonged our frustration and financial loss.

We respectfully request a full refund of the round-trip ticket costs paid for all three passengers. We believe that the exceptional circumstances, including the armed conflict, security risks, and operational disruptions affecting the region, should be taken into consideration.

As travelers who chose not to expose ourselves and our families to a potentially dangerous situation, we should not be financially penalized for making a responsible decision based on safety concerns.

We ask Flydubai and Trip.com to review our case fairly, provide a written response, and process a full refund of the ticket amount without further delay.
