Europcar Cologne Fails to Provide Paid Child Seat and Forces $53 Parking Fee

On July 26, 2026, I rented a car for 1 day from the Europcar office in downtown Cologne, Germany. A child seat was included in my reservation, and I paid for it. At the office, I was merely handed the car key and given written directions to an enclosed parking garage. Using the QR receipt provided, I was completely unable to exit the parking garage; no one offered assistance, and I was forced to pay a $53 parking fee out of pocket just to leave.

When I reached the vehicle, I discovered that the child seat had not been provided at all. Consequently, I was forced to pay an extra $53 to exit the parking lot and never received the child seat service I paid for. Furthermore, my parking receipt was taken away by staff at the office, leaving me with no physical proof of this payment. I raised these issues at the office and sent numerous emails regarding everything I experienced, but I received no response whatsoever and no refund was provided.

I demand a refund for the child seat service that was never provided, as well as the $53 parking fee I was forced to pay due to improper guidance. I request that international customers not be mistreated in this manner and that my complaint be reviewed urgently.
