Etstur Caused A Loss After A Medical Emergency – No Support
I booked a hotel through ETS Tur for a solo trip. Since only triple rooms were available, I paid extra and reserved one—even though I was traveling alone. On the morning of check-in, I experienced a sudden vertigo attack while alone on the way to the airport and fainted. I was rushed to the hospital, where I underwent cardiac and neurological evaluations. I was told that similar attacks could recur over the next 10 days, and I was in no condition to travel. I informed ETS Tur and initially requested a refund. They told me refunds weren’t possible but assured me I could reschedule my 3-night stay for any dates in June. Trusting this, I repurchased flight tickets and rearranged everything. However, days later, I was contacted and told only 1 night would be refunded, and nothing else could be done. I called the hotel directly, and shockingly, the staff admitted that at first they agreed to move my booking, but then the manager said, “the room is considered used". This communication failure, while I had been clearly told everything was “taken care of,” has cost me 6000₺ out of pocket. To make things worse, an ETS Tur representative accused me of lying, simply because I had mentioned planning to book a new flight. After a health emergency, this kind of accusation is not only offensive but entirely unacceptable. I also checked ETS Tur’s website and can still see availability at the same hotel—including smaller rooms. I had stated multiple times that I was traveling alone and would be happy with a smaller room, but no flexibility was offered. ETS Tur’s handling of this case has been inconsistent, unprofessional, and completely insensitive. I demand either a rescheduled 3-night stay in June or full compensation.
