Excess Baggage Fees on Etihad Airways Nearly Match Ticket Price

On my Bangkok to Istanbul flight with Etihad Airways, I was charged 4,190₺ for just 4 kg of excess baggage, while my ticket cost 8,000₺. This is incredibly unfair and feels deceptive, as such charges are nearly equivalent to purchasing a new ticket. My friend and I were charged a total of 8,300₺ for excess baggage, turning what seemed like an affordable flight into the cost of flying with Turkish Airlines directly.

I will never choose Etihad Airways again. This level of pricing and lack of transparency is unacceptable. I urge Etihad to review these excessive fees and ensure fairness for passengers. Such practices damage trust and ruin the experience for loyal customers.
