After my recent flight with Etihad Airways, my suitcase was returned to me in a torn and burst condition. Many of the items inside, including special oils and creams I had purchased in Bali, were missing. When the baggage was weighed at the airport, it was already clear that several kilograms were missing, confirming that belongings had been lost. In total, my damages amount to approximately ₺5,000.
I immediately filed a report at the airport and informed the staff of the situation. Despite this, when I later contacted Etihad customer service, I was told that the airline was not responsible for the damage or loss, and they refused to accept liability. This response is unacceptable, especially considering the clear evidence of mishandling.
Not only did I suffer the financial loss, but I was also forced to spend hours waiting at the airport with no real assistance. My suitcase had no warranty, and I had to stretch-wrap the broken luggage myself just to get it home. I can provide photos of the damaged and burst-open suitcase as proof.
I am demanding that Etihad compensate me fully for my losses. If this issue is not resolved, I will never choose Etihad Airways again and will share my negative experience publicly across all platforms.
