Etihad Airways Baggage Damage Complaint


I travelled with Etihad Airways on flight EY021 from Abu Dhabi to Toronto (YYZ) on March 14 under the name Dhwani B*** P***. The flight arrived with a delay of about 2 hours, and when I reached Toronto my checked baggage was not delivered at the airport. Despite waiting and checking with the baggage services desk, my suitcase did not arrive. My baggage was finally delivered to my home on March 22. When I opened it, I saw that the suitcase itself was damaged, with broken wheels/tires, and several items inside were no longer usable. In particular, food and sweets that I had carried were in bad condition and had to be thrown away, meaning I suffered both material loss and significant inconvenience after already experiencing a long delay without my belongings. I have already reported this issue to Etihad and hold the reference number 2603195692719. However, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. In light of the damaged suitcase, the spoiled contents, and the delay in delivering my baggage, I am requesting compensation in the range of approximately 800 to 1,000 USD to cover the cost of the suitcase, the unusable food and sweets, and the inconvenience caused by this experience. I kindly ask that my complaint be reviewed and that appropriate compensation be provided as soon as possible.
