Ethiopian Airlines Refuses Refund on Completed Transaction With Bank Reference
On September 4, 2025, at 01:17, I attempted to purchase an Ethiopian Airlines flight ticket for the Istanbul–Entebbe route. The transaction total of 20,260.05 TL was successfully debited from my account via my Troy payment card. However, despite the funds being processed, no ticket was issued and no booking confirmation was provided.
When contacting Ethiopian Airlines and card support, I was informed that the payment could not be located due to a missing reservation number (PNR). However, my official bank statement confirms a completed transaction to Ethiopian Airlines under Transaction ID 2025012474551581 and Account Number 00158007332570109. Despite following up continuously since the incident, I have received no resolution or clear explanation.
Holding funds for an unissued ticket is unacceptable. I request an immediate, full refund of 20,260.05 TL back to my card, or a formal written statement explaining why these verified funds are being withheld.
I hope this email finds you well. I am hereby claiming a refund for the ticket that I purchased on 4th September 2025. The money was deducted from my Turkish account, and since then, I have called the helpline. They said the money would be refunded, but up to now, the money has never been refunded. Thank you.
