I Replaced My Epson L3150 Ink Pad but Got Stuck on a Software Lock Out
After receiving the "A printer's ink pad is at the end of its service life" warning on my Epson L3150 printer, we replaced the physical waste ink pad. However, the printer then started warning that a software update was required. Upon researching the issue, I learned that this procedure can only be performed by an authorized service center.
I then contacted Antalya Işık Bilgisayar, an authorized Epson service provider, and explained the software-related issue tied to the waste ink pad. In response, I was quoted a fee of 1,500 TRY solely for this software procedure—a price I consider exorbitant. Demanding such a high fee for a simple software reset/update does not reflect well on the Epson brand and has severely damaged my trust in it.
Furthermore, I believe that simple software issues like this should be supported online so customers can resolve them on their own. Users should not be forced to visit authorized service centers for minor procedures; accessible software utility downloads and guidance should be provided remotely instead.
I demand that Epson review its pricing policy for minor software interventions, provide a reasonable solution that does not cause financial hardship for consumers, and adjust the service fee for my current issue to a fair level so my printer can function properly again.
