Epson L8050 Warranty Claim Denied and Repair Costs Exceed New Printer Price

On May 6, 2026, I shipped two Epson L8050 printers from Sivas to Tecpro Service Center for repair. One printer, with serial number XB4X004683, was no longer under warranty, while the other, serial number XB4X011908, was still covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Both devices were experiencing exactly the same problem: they would pull paper from the feeder as if they were about to print, then immediately push the paper back out without completing the print job.
The printer with serial number XB4X004683 had previously experienced this identical failure while it was still under warranty and was repaired by Tecpro under warranty coverage. However, approximately seven months later, the same defect occurred again. This time, under service form number 1504988, I was quoted a repair fee of $500. Considering that the current retail price of a brand-new Epson L8050 is approximately $395, I do not find it reasonable or acceptable to be charged more for a repair than the cost of purchasing a new device.
For my second printer, serial number XB4X011908, which remains under warranty, service form number 1533275 states that the waste ink pad was allegedly reset in an unauthorized manner and that the printhead, mainboard, and printhead cable require replacement. Based on these claims, the device was declared out of warranty and I was quoted a repair fee of $550. In my view, demanding such a high amount for a printer with a retail value of approximately $395, especially while it is still under warranty, is both unfair and arbitrary.
It is extremely difficult to reach the service center by telephone, and I have not received responses to my emails. During phone conversations, I was told that one printer required a $500 repair and that the other required a $550 repair because "ink had leaked inside" and the waste ink pad had allegedly been reset. However, I have never had any unauthorized work performed on either printer. Only original Epson ink has been used, and during the entire warranty period, neither device was opened or serviced by anyone other than authorized service providers.
Before sending both printers for warranty evaluation, I recorded videos documenting their condition. There was no visible ink leakage or similar issue anywhere on either device. If any damage occurred during transportation, I do not believe I should be held responsible for it.
Both printers are still being held by Tecpro. I request that printer XB4X004683 be repaired for a reasonable and fair fee, considering that the same defect reappeared shortly after it had already been repaired under warranty for the identical issue. I also request that printer XB4X011908 not be excluded from warranty coverage without clear, verifiable, and documented evidence supporting the allegations made against it. Its defect should be repaired free of charge under the terms of the valid warranty.
