I Face Hair Damage and Refused Return on My Dyson HS06 Hair Straightener

I purchased the Dyson HS06 hair straightener (serial number: 2RF-EU-TNA5063A) on April 26, 2025, expecting premium quality and reliable customer support. Just three days after buying it, I contacted Dyson to initiate a return, relying on their advertised “14-day unconditional return” policy on the website. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that this return promise is nothing but a misleading gimmick.

Despite my early return request, I was denied, and the product is now stuck with me. The sales reps provided no helpful guidance and seemed completely uninformed. I tried using the device myself, and it severely damaged my hair. Instead of smoothing it, the straightener left my hair frizzy and shriveled—like dried corn silk. It was a shocking and disappointing result from a high-end product.

I was told not to expect further direction, but any reasonable consumer can see that this is unacceptable. Dyson, your premium pricing demands premium service. I request that you honor your return policy, accept the product back, and issue a full refund immediately.

My grievance with this company is still ongoing. No one from the company has called. They only care until the sale; after that, the customer is left on their own.

Trusting Dyson’s '14-day unconditional return' promise on their website, I purchased a Dyson hair styler/straightener from the Dyson İstinyePark store in April 2025, paying approximately 21,999 TL. When I used the product for the first time, I noticed that in less than 10 minutes my hair shriveled and burned like corn silk. Seeing that it damaged my hair, I immediately stopped using the product and wanted to return it. The İstinyePark store where I bought the product directed me to Dyson, stating that they were not authorized for returns. When I spoke to Dyson by phone, everyone I spoke to almost repeated the same sentences as if memorized, saying they would not accept the return. Because the 14-day unconditional return promise clearly stated on their website was not actually implemented, and I kept hearing the same stereotypical responses throughout the process, I feel both deceived and not taken seriously. Since I only used the product for a few minutes and immediately stopped, and despite contacting the store and Dyson multiple times I could not get a result, the process was prolonged and this time I was told I had missed the return window. Despite all this, I applied to the Consumer Arbitration Board to seek my rights, but I could not get a concrete solution from there either. My receipt number is 0043, and I am seriously aggrieved because a product I paid such a high price for both damaged my hair and its return was refused. I demand that Dyson stand behind the 14-day unconditional return commitment on their own website, accept the return of the Dyson hair styler/straightener I purchased, and refund the full amount I paid. I expect them to be transparent and fair to the customer and to adopt a consumer-friendly approach. Although I already have two Dyson vacuum cleaners at home, after this grievance, I will have to think many times before buying any Dyson product again; I especially want to state that the distrust and financial and emotional damage I experienced in this process have completely negatively affected my perception of the brand.
