Duolingo Charged Me the Full Annual Fee Despite Showing a Monthly Payment Option
I signed up for Duolingo Plus (Super Duolingo) under the assumption that I would be billed monthly, as the app clearly indicated. However, after confirming my subscription, I was shocked to find that Duolingo had charged me the full annual amount in one single payment, without any clear warning or confirmation.
While the app itself is helpful for language learning, this billing method is misleading and unfair. A user should never be charged an entire year’s fee upfront when a monthly option is advertised. It’s frustrating to feel tricked over something as basic as transparent pricing.
I am requesting an immediate refund of the full amount that was charged in error. Duolingo needs to be more honest and careful with its subscription models. Automatically deducting a large payment like that is not acceptable, especially when users are not clearly informed beforehand.
Please process my refund as soon as possible, and ensure others are not caught off guard by the same issue. Thank you.
