Discovercars and Garenta Refuse Vehicle Delivery and Hold €82.34 Refund
On August 4, 2026, I reserved a Renault Taliant rental vehicle through Discovercars under the name P**** A**** (Reservation No. d018481473) for a total charge of €82.34. Although the reservation status remains displayed as "confirmed" within the Discovercars portal, representatives at the Garenta pickup desk refused to deliver the vehicle, claiming the booking was canceled in their system, while failing to provide any written cancellation documentation.
When I contacted Discovercars customer support, agents insisted that because the reservation appears active on their end, I must independently obtain a written cancellation confirmation from Garenta before any refund can be evaluated. This administrative deadlock forces the consumer to mediate a communication failure between two business entities while holding funds captive for a service that was never rendered.
Withholding payment for an unfulfilled service constitutes a breach of contract and an unfair commercial practice under consumer protection standards.
I demand that Discovercars and Garenta resolve this internal system discrepancy immediately, waive any documentation requirements imposed on the customer, and issue a full, unadjusted refund of €82.34 back to my payment card.
