I’ve been using the Dexcom G6 for a long time, and in the beginning, it worked perfectly. I had no issues—no skin problems, no irritation—and I could even extend the sensor wear time without trouble. But ever since the Dexcom G7 launched, the newer G6 sensors I’ve received have caused severe allergic reactions on my skin.

I now have lasting marks in four different areas of my body where I applied the G6. Even without extending the wear time, by day 5 or 7, I experienced serious skin irritation, fluid-filled inflammation, and oozing from the sensor site. This never used to happen before. It makes me question whether the materials have changed or if this is some kind of push to get users to switch to the G7.

I’ve attached photos taken at different times to show the extent of the issue. These reactions are painful, disruptive, and unacceptable from a medical product I trusted for so long. Dexcom, you need to urgently investigate this issue and offer safe, skin-friendly sensors again. I shouldn’t have to sacrifice my skin to manage my glucose.
