My Daikin Siesta AC Saga - More Than Double the Price, Double the Problems



In March 2017, I purchased a Daikin 24,000 BTU Siesta Model No: ATXN60NVB7 Air Conditioner, paying a premium over its competitors because I trusted its quality. However, what happened next was a rather depressing experience. The indoor unit's plastic components began cracking, breaking, and falling apart from every angle, undermining my faith in its craftsmanship. Taping different parts of the unit with packing tape to prevent further disintegration has become the norm. Even my father's two-decade-old air conditioner doesn't have such problems. Friends who chose cheaper brands during the same time period were not affected. It's perplexing how a wall-mounted AC in a living space could deteriorate in this manner. If it weren't for the fragility issue, I'd be happy with the Daikin AC, but this situation is tainting my opinion of the brand. I'm still hoping that Daikin, a brand I trust, will stand behind their product.
