I bought a pair of boots from a Columbia store on February 2, 2025, and they had an absolutely horrible odor. I thought it was just the "new shoe" smell, so I aired them out on my balcony for days, but the terrible smell never went away. It's been nearly four months, and the stench is still there, making them completely unwearable.
I finally took them back to the store for inspection on May 31, 2025. To my utter disbelief, on June 12, 2025, they returned the boots to me with a dismissive note saying, "We regret to inform you that the odor is not due to manufacturing or material defects." This is unacceptable! I paid good money for these boots from a major company, and their refusal to address such a significant quality issue is disgraceful.
This isn't some cheap pair of shoes; these are Columbia boots, and I expect them to be free of such a foul, persistent odor. Their lack of concern and blatant disregard for product quality is infuriating. Columbia, you need to accept these defective boots back and provide a full refund! I will be filing a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee, as this is a clear case of a faulty product being sold by a company that refuses to stand behind its brand.
