Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Start-Stop Fails in Traffic and Risks Rollback

I’m the owner of a Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, and I’m deeply frustrated and alarmed by a serious safety issue related to the vehicle’s start-stop system. While driving in traffic, when the start-stop feature is activated and the vehicle stops, pressing the gas pedal to re-engage the engine often fails to restart the motor. During this delay, the car becomes completely unresponsive and even begins rolling backward, creating a major safety hazard—especially on inclines or in close traffic.

I reported this issue to Chery’s authorized service center, and they acknowledged that this malfunction is common in all Tiggo 7 Pro models. I was told that a software update from China is expected at some point, but no timeline was provided. Even worse, this serious defect was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase, despite it being a known problem.

A feature that is meant to improve fuel efficiency should not put the driver and others at risk. This is unacceptable for a modern vehicle, especially one marketed for reliability and safety. I demand that Chery urgently address this flaw, provide clear communication, and prioritize a software fix immediately before someone gets hurt.
