On June 19, 2024, we rented a car from Budget in Tivat, Montenegro, with a €200 deposit. We returned the car on June 23, 2024, at Podgorica Airport, and were told there were no issues. However, during the final check at the counter, we were suddenly informed of "small scratches" and charged an extra €144, even though we had insurance covering minor damage. This situation felt like we were taken advantage of, especially since a staff member had already confirmed the car was fine before passing the paperwork to a colleague who received a message about the scratches via WhatsApp. When I questioned this, I received no clear answer. This feels like a cheap tactic to make a profit off customers in a rush to catch their flights. I demand a refund for this unfair charge.
