Booking.com Canceled My New Year Reservation and Has Not Issued My Refund

I made a reservation via Booking.com for New Years Eve in Paris. The property asked me to make the payment to secure the reservation, and it sounded reasonable back then so I did. The day before the check-in, and one day after the free cancellation period had finished, the property canceled the reservation. I immediately contacted Booking.com customer services and they replied that the property wouldn't be able to accommodate me and I had to make a new reservation, but also due to the problems that this situation caused, they promised me compensation and I would be refunded completely within 14 days. Also they offered another property which was completely booked for the dates. Today marks the 34th day of their response and I haven't received either the refund or the compensation, even though I presented all the documents they had demanded from me. I have been trying to contact booking.com ever since and I received no replies. I left many messages via their website, I sent many e-mails asking for an update, and I called their customer service via telephone, but I still can't contact them. Today, looking back, I realize that I may have been misled through their services. What’s disappointing is that their lack of response makes it seem like they are turning a blind eye to the situation. I expect an immediate resolution; otherwise, I will have to consider taking legal action.
