BMW iX Repetitive Issues and Poor Service
We bought a BMW iX car from Borusan Avcılar in Istanbul in October 2022. In July 2023, the car had a problem with one of its headlights, so we quickly let the service center know about it. They said it was a software problem and gave us the car back a few days later. Unfortunately, the problem happened again after a few days of driving. We went back to the service center, and this time, they said that the headlight needed to be replaced. They told us that the vehicle would have to stay in the shop for 10-15 days. During this time, they gave us a replacement car that had much lower specifications, and we agreed to take it even though we weren't too happy about it. After we got our car back, it quickly started having another problem. The service center found an issue with the battery cooling unit. They said it's a big safety problem because there's a chance it could catch fire or explode. They asked to keep the car until the problem was fixed. After waiting for a long time to get our car back from servicing, we found out that the screen and steering buttons weren't working. When I brought it back to the service center, they told me that they didn't have enough experience with electric vehicles, so they couldn't fix it right away. We don't trust the vehicle anymore and we've asked for a new one or our money back. Borusan gave us a replacement vehicle, but it wasn't as good as ours. When we said no to this offer, they said we didn't appreciate the brand. If BMW is really supposed to be a high-end brand, why are we paying so much for service and performance that is below average? We have been really unhappy and have had to deal with people avoiding giving us straight answers. We want to make it clear that we won't take the car back, and if needed, it will stay at their service center. Basically, Borusan Avcılar hasn't helped us at all. I think it's important for people who are thinking about buying an electric car to do their homework before making a decision.
