My Asics Gel-Sonoma 8 GTX Shoes Let Water In Despite Gore-Tex Claim

55

I ordered the Asics Gel-Sonoma 8 (size 38) with order number 471021, specifically because it was advertised on Asics' official website as having Gore-Tex waterproof technology. The product description clearly stated that water molecules would not penetrate the shoe, which is exactly why I chose this model.

However, that claim turned out to be completely false. The shoes do allow water in, and my feet ended up soaked in conditions that a Gore-Tex-lined shoe should easily withstand. This is not just disappointing—it’s misleading.

I trusted Asics and paid a premium for a product based on its waterproof promise. Instead, I received a shoe that fails to deliver the most basic feature it was marketed with.

Asics, you need to take accountability for this false advertising. I expect either a full refund or a proper replacement with the true Gore-Tex protection you advertised. Please address this issue immediately and stop misleading customers with inaccurate product descriptions.
