Asics has been nothing but a disappointment. There’s no commitment to customer satisfaction, and the quality of their products is seriously questionable. I purchased the Asics Gel Trabuco 12 GTX on October 20, 2024, and within less than a year, the shoes started tearing along the sides. Despite being Gore-Tex, they also let water in—defeating the purpose of paying extra for waterproof technology.
I only wore the shoes during rainy weather, and for just 5 months. Still, the damage occurred. At the time of sale, I was told this was a top-tier product—“you’ll wear them for 3–4 years,” they said. “If there’s any problem, just bring them in and we’ll take care of it.” That clearly wasn’t true.
The shoes came with a 2-year warranty, yet when I sent them in for inspection, Asics rejected my claim, saying there was “no manufacturing defect.” How can a shoe that tears and leaks after limited seasonal use not be defective?
If you're not going to stand behind what you produce, then either build your products to last or admit your faults. I demand a proper resolution—either a replacement or refund. This is not what I expected from a brand like Asics, and I will no longer recommend them to anyone.
