Asics Gel-Game 9 Tears After 10 Weeks

On January 19, 2024, I purchased the Asics Gel-Game 9 volleyball shoes (product code: 1042A211-103) for my 11-year-old daughter from the Asics store in Izmir İstinyePark for ₺3,199. After only 10 weeks of use, with two volleyball practices per week, both pairs developed upper-section tears in the same location.
On April 5, 2024, I reported this issue to the retailer where I made the transaction. Expressing my surprise at the tearing occurring after only 2.5 months of indoor usage and how it has undermined my trust in the business, I sought either a product replacement or a refund.
The store personnel indicated that they were unable to make a decision and created a support form for investigation, informing me that the shoes would be transferred to the Inspection Unit in Istanbul. On April 15, 2024, I received an SMS from the Inspection Unit stating that no production problems were discovered in the product.
Confused by the situation, I called Asics customer support and expressed my dissatisfaction. I underlined how my own shoes lasted at least 2.5-3 years without difficulty under diverse settings, and how we had never had similar problems with my daughter's previous shoes. The customer support agent promised to review the problem with the Inspection Unit and get back to me, but the outcome remained unchanged.
Seeing shoes that have remained intact under all situations for years, I want Asics to address my daughter's plight, who now has to go barefoot to matches after having this issue in just 2.5 months of use, solely in the sports hall, and dismissing it as "no manufacturing defect." I would not suggest Asics sneakers to anyone, and I intend to take the case to the Consumer Arbitration Board.
