Business Trip Disrupted By American Airlines Flight Cancellation

On February 5th, my PHX - LAS flight was unexpectedly canceled just 3 hours before departure, disrupting my important business trip. American Airlines informed me that the flight was rescheduled for the following day. They provided two options: a $900 credit or a $685 refund. Opting for a refund, I promptly responded to their email. Surprisingly, I received a personalized email acknowledging the delay and confirming my choice for the cash refund. To my satisfaction, the refund check arrived earlier than the promised 3-week timeframe. However, due to the urgency of my business, I had to purchase a last-minute ticket at a much higher cost. Therefore, I expect to be reimbursed not only for the flight but also for the additional expenses incurred.
