AJet Made Me Miss My Flight and Canceled My Prepaid Car Reservation
The worst flight experience of my life – I will NEVER fly with AJet again! On March 31, 2025, I was scheduled to fly from Düsseldorf to Istanbul on flight VF026. Just as we were about to take off, all passengers were suddenly told to disembark and collect their luggage because police reportedly noticed a gap at the rear door. The plane was re-checked. But here’s the strange part: when we reboarded, there were new passengers on the flight, and nearly all the empty seats were now taken. Because of this ridiculous delay, I missed my connecting flight to Kayseri (VF3172), even though I was at the gate 45 minutes before departure. I was told the gate had already closed. I was rebooked to a much later flight at 11:00 PM, and during the 5–6 hour wait, all they offered was a voucher for a dry sandwich and one drink (coffee or tea). Many of us had to buy proper meals with our own money. Even worse: I spent most of my waiting time at Sabiha Gökçen Airport calling both AJet and the car rental company. I had a prepaid car reservation in Kayseri, which had to be picked up before 10:00 PM. Because of the flight delay, I couldn’t collect the car, and the reservation was cancelled. Neither AJet nor the rental company refunded me. AJet didn’t even apologize – their only response was that “such situations can happen on international flights.” AJet’s flight operations and customer service were shockingly careless, unhelpful, and completely irresponsible. No traveler deserves to be treated like this. Warning: think twice before flying with AJet. Unsafe, unreliable, and completely ignorant of customer satisfaction.
