Air Serbia Ghosting Customers in Ankara After Abrupt May 2026 Flight Cancellation
Our Air Serbia flight JU431, scheduled to depart from Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 4:30 AM on May 26, 2026, was cancelled without any prior notification. We were not informed via SMS or telephone; we only discovered the situation after arriving at the airport.
We arrived at the airport hours before the flight, around 1:00 AM, and unfortunately learned that our flight had been cancelled through the domestic information desk. At the airport, we could not find any representative from Air Serbia to communicate with. Since it was outside business hours, we were also unable to reach customer service and were left completely stranded.
Out of necessity, we were forced to purchase new tickets from Ankara to Istanbul, and from there on to Serbia, which cost us approximately $2,050 for the new tickets alone. In addition to this, the deposit we paid for our pre-arranged rental car, our Airbnb accommodation booking, and a completely wasted day further compounded our hardship.
Due to Air Serbia's total lack of communication and the absence of any representative at the airport, I demand full reimbursement for all incurred expenses—namely the new flight tickets, the rental car deposit, and the accommodation costs. Furthermore, I request that I be contacted as soon as possible regarding this hardship.
