Air Arabia Forced Extra Baggage Fees on Return Flight to Istanbul
From November 17-23, my friends and I flew to Tangier with Air Arabia, using our cabin baggage allowance. While departing from Sabiha Gökçen, there were no issues, but during our return flight from Tangier, the same bags and weights were suddenly deemed oversized. The airline forced us to pay extra baggage fees, labeling our cabin-size luggage as “extra large.” Even one friend, with minimal belongings and a single small bag, was unfairly charged. The staff threatened to withhold our tickets unless we paid. At one point, the desk attendant walked away, leaving us stranded. We had no choice but to pay €160 to board the flight to Istanbul. This was blatant extortion. I demand a full refund and want others to be aware of Air Arabia’s practices before traveling.
