Unauthorized Charge on Agoda – Immediate Refund Needed for Canceled Booking
On March 15, 2025, at around 4:21 AM, I was browsing Agoda.com to check hotels in Antalya for an upcoming trip. I clicked on the "next step" button to see if installment payments were available but did not proceed with the final booking confirmation.
A few minutes later, I received a bank notification stating that 44,976₺ had been charged to my credit card by Agoda.com Mercure. When I checked my Agoda account, I was shocked to see that a reservation (No: 1569590224) had been made without my consent. I immediately canceled the booking, but Agoda displayed a "no refund" message.
I contacted my bank, and they confirmed that no SMS approval or authentication was requested for this charge. They flagged it as a potentially fraudulent transaction and, upon my request, canceled my credit card. However, the 44,976₺ charge still appears on my statement.
Agoda offers no proper customer support, making it nearly impossible to resolve such issues.
