AEG Authorized Service Overcharged Me to Repair My Lavamat Protex Washer

For the replacement of the faulty door lock of my AEG Lavamat Protex washing machine, the technicians demanded an upfront payment of 2000 ₺ for a total cost of approximately 8000 ₺, including material costs, labor fees, and VAT. The replacement part alone was supposed to cost around 6000 ₺. They assured me that, with the special code, they could bring and replace the lock directly.

After family members alerted me, I researched and found that the replacement part costs only about 230 ₺. While it might not be readily available on the market due to the age of my model (70270 VFL), I assume they opted for a repair.

After a conversation with customer service, I was informed that the upfront payment could not be refunded. In addition to this loss of 1700 ₺, including a service fee of 300 ₺, I am now disappointed. Nevertheless, I am relieved that I did not engage in a potentially costly repair adventure for almost 8000 ₺. It would be advisable to be more cautious about repair costs in the future.
