My Adidas Sneaker Teared Off in 5 Months

On December 2, 2023, I purchased the FY7939 8 Forum Mid model sneakers for my son from Adidas. He primarily uses Adidas for travel rather than sports, and within 1-2 months, we noticed the sides of the shoes wearing out. Initially, we thought it was due to the glued areas opening, but it turned out the leather itself was tearing. We trusted the brand and opted for leather shoes, believing they would be durable. Our first instinct was to visit the store where we made the purchase. However, after seeing numerous complaints online and learning that the brand didn't adequately address them—often blaming the customer or sending shoes to the factory, keeping customers waiting for months—we realized it was likely a deliberate strategy to sell subpar products at high prices. It's evident that the brand is capitalizing on consumers' trust. Can a shoe, regardless of its material, worth this much money deteriorate in just 5 months? We expected a leather shoe from a globally recognized brand to last for years, but these became unusable within 5 months. How many people can afford to replace expensive shoes every 4-5 months? I've decided to refrain from buying Adidas shoes in the future and will share my experience and the complaints I've seen online with those around me.
