Yapi Kredi Bank Charging Anormally Extra Fees On The Agoda Website
I am a Yapı Kredi World Platinum credit card holder with card number ending in 5153. On 22 May, I made a purchase via Agoda.com using 3D Secure. Both on the 3D security screen and on the payment page of the site, the transaction amount was clearly shown as 7,057 TL, and I approved the payment based on this amount. However, the transaction was reflected to my credit card by the bank as 7,305 TL. In other words, an amount higher than what I approved was debited to my card entirely without my knowledge or consent. There is no explanation in the statement or transaction details that could justify this difference, such as an exchange rate difference, commission, or overseas transaction note. The fact that an amount not shown to the customer and not approved by the customer is debited to the card is, in my view, a clear abuse of trust. I am faced with a situation that is highly suspicious, trust‑breaking, and incompatible with banking ethics. I noticed this on 28 May and immediately opened an objection record through customer service with reference number 1886815842. Despite this, no satisfactory explanation has been provided to me so far, and I have not received any meaningful feedback. I absolutely do not accept being charged this additional amount which is not visible on either the 3D security screen or the site where I made the purchase. I request that Yapı Kredi immediately and fully refund the unapproved extra amount charged to my card or completely cancel the transaction. It is clearly evident that in case of cancellation through Agoda I will not be able to receive a refund there, and it is impossible to explain the continuation of this grievance with any good‑faith approach. I demand that this practice, which is unacceptable both legally and ethically, be urgently corrected; otherwise, I state that I will exercise all my legal rights to the fullest extent.
