WPS Office won’t open certain docs on my PC – how can I fix it?

If WPS Office won’t open certain documents, first check the file format and source, because damaged or partially downloaded files often fail to load, especially DOCX or XLSX created in newer Microsoft Office versions.

Try opening the same file on another device or in Google Docs to confirm whether the file itself is corrupted.

Make sure WPS Office is fully updated and that you’re using the correct version (32-bit vs 64-bit), as outdated builds commonly cause compatibility issues.

Reinstalling WPS Office can also fix broken components that prevent specific files from opening.

If the document opens elsewhere, use WPS’s “Open and Repair” option or convert the file to PDF or an older Office format, then reopen it.
