I Bought a Brand-New Volvo XC90 and Faced Transmission Failure at Just 1000 KM
On January 4, 2025, we purchased a brand-new Volvo XC90 from the Samsun Otokoç dealership. Shockingly, at just 1,000 kilometers, the vehicle reported a serious transmission failure. We immediately contacted Volvo and requested a replacement vehicle, considering this was a premium purchase with a price tag of ₺6 million.
To our disappointment, Volvo declined to replace the car and only offered to replace the transmission at the service center. It is incredibly disheartening to see such a renowned and supposedly reliable brand completely ignore customer satisfaction and fail to stand behind a manufacturing fault on a zero-kilometer car.
This is not a small issue—it's a major defect in a brand-new vehicle that should never have occurred. I trusted Volvo because of its reputation for quality and durability, but this experience has shaken my confidence in the brand. We have since taken legal action, and the case is ongoing.
I urge Volvo to reconsider its stance and do what’s right by replacing the defective vehicle or providing a satisfactory resolution. Customers paying this much deserve better treatment and accountability.
