My Vestel Appliances Caught Fire During Transportation

Last year, I bought a refrigerator and a washing machine from Vestel, which I kept in their unopened boxes at my family's house as part of my trousseau. As my wedding day approached, I wanted to bring these antiques into my own house. On 10.08.2028, as the products were being transported from Bayrampaşa/Istanbul to Pendik/Istanbul, between 15:15 and 15:30, near Kurtköy, the articles caught fire while the vehicle was in motion, rendering them unusable. We extinguished the fire on our own. The Sultanbeyli Fire Department arrived on the spot. However, without performing a thorough investigation, they determined in the incident report that the fire was started by a known or unknown individual or people, rejecting all other possibilities. One possible explanation was that the cardboard packing warmed due to the summer sun. We discovered that there was no protective coating on the back of the refrigerator to guard the packing from flames in the event of overheating. According to the statements of those in the truck, the fire began on the upper surface of the refrigerator's packaging, and when they stopped to extinguish it, the flames quickly spread. After the fire was extinguished, no cigarette butts or other sources of ignition were discovered in the vicinity. When we arrived to collect the fire report, we were informed that the fire could have been caused by the refrigerator. However, on the day of the incident, other alternative causes were not included in the report, and we are being penalized unfairly as a result.
