Despite purchasing a 'Manila - Lefkosa' round-trip ticket with reservation number WD33CI from THY at a much higher price for the 'full refund' option, I encountered an 'Error-BOS-18210' when trying to refund the 'Lefkosa - Istanbul' and 'Istanbul - Manila' return tickets after using the outbound flight. I could not process the refund through the website where I initially bought the ticket with a single click. Following a discussion with customer service, I learned that for the 'full refund' ticket I purchased for approximately ₺35,000, only ₺19,000 would be refunded. I was informed that if I object, I need to fill out a form through the 'Feedback' section on the website. The response to my feedback with reference number TK-10834239 stated that since I used the outbound flight, the refund amount was given based on a restricted fare class. When I researched the 'restricted fare class' mentioned in the response, I found an explanation under the ticket stating, 'The rules of the flight with the most restrictive fare apply for cancellations and refunds.' During the ticket purchase process, the website showed 'full refund' for the outbound ticket for 62,000 PHP (approximately ₺35,000) and 'full refund' for the return ticket for 62,000 PHP (approximately ₺35,000). After purchasing the ticket, the issued ticket only showed a total of ₺69,344.76 without any detailed pricing information. As a consumer, I would like to remind you that all details of the payment I made for the service I received should be shown to me. This situation is being manipulated or deliberately hidden by THY under the rule of 'The rules of the flight with the most restrictive fare apply for cancellations and refunds,' resulting in a refund amount lower than the amount stated on the website, determined by THY. I do not accept a refund of ₺19,000 for the return ticket I purchased for 62,000 PHP (approximately ₺35,000) and demand that the payment details (how much was paid for which flight) and the exact breakdown of the requested refund be shared, in other words, transparency. I expect my grievance to be resolved as quickly as possible and the full refund of the ticket amount as committed at the time of sale. If my grievance is not resolved, I will resort to all legal means, starting with the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
