Double Booking Issue at DoubleTree Hilton Izmir via Trivago
I booked two rooms at DoubleTree Hilton Izmir Airport through Trivago and arrived at the hotel at midnight, only to find that Trivago had only reserved one room. Despite trying to reach Trivago and the third-party site they directed me to for 45 minutes, I couldn’t get in contact with anyone. The hotel informed me that this was an issue between them and the agency, not my fault, but still asked me to leave a ₺3000 deposit even though my payment had already been processed, as confirmed by my bank statement. I ended up paying an additional ₺3000 to get the room key, meaning I was charged twice!
Thank you, Trivago, and DoubleTree Hilton Izmir, for this! If I can’t contact Trivago at midnight, and I'm dealing with a third-party agency instead, what’s the point of using Trivago? There’s no contact number, just a website—unacceptable!
