Trip.com Refused My Refund Despite AirAsia Accepting My Medical Documents
I purchased a flight ticket through Trip.com for approximately $236. The booking reference is QFBQ6D, and the flight was scheduled to depart from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Kuala Lumpur at 5:15 PM on October 7, 2026. I underwent surgery on September 18, and my doctor determined that I was not medically fit to fly, making it impossible for me to use the ticket. I therefore informed AirAsia of the situation and submitted all relevant medical documents. AirAsia accepted these documents and canceled the ticket.
However, despite submitting the same medical documents to Trip.com, the company refused to accept them and informed me that I would receive no refund whatsoever. While the airline acknowledged the cancellation and my circumstances and took the necessary action, I am being left at a disadvantage because Trip.com, the intermediary, is making the process more difficult and offering no solution regarding my refund.
Since I was forced to cancel this ticket due to surgery, I request that Trip.com take into account the official medical documents already accepted by AirAsia and refund the highest possible amount of my ticket price.
