Trip.com Failed to Confirm My Linada Hotel Taksim Reservation

Approximately two months ago, I booked an eight-night stay at Linada Hotel Taksim through Trip.com and paid the full amount of approximately $127 upfront by credit card. When I arrived at the hotel on the evening of Saturday, October 10, 2026, with my wife and our ten-month-old baby, the receptionist told me that my reservation had not appeared in their system. Since they could not find my booking, they said they could not accommodate us.
Instead of offering a solution, the hotel staff told me that rooms were available but that they could only help if I paid again. With no other option, I was forced to pay $54 for a single night. The room I was given was extremely small, had no window, and was a dark room that appeared to have been created by building a wall in front of a fire escape. It had a door leading to the fire escape, but I found that this exit had effectively been rendered unusable. I believe that blocking fire exits in this way could make it impossible for guests to evacuate the hotel safely in an emergency. Despite this serious safety concern, the hotel charged me $54 for the room and offered no meaningful assistance.
Afterward, I received a partial refund for the original reservation, but the full amount of that refund has still not reached my account. In addition, the $54 I paid directly to the hotel for the room was never refunded. I demand that the hotel payment and the outstanding balance of my original reservation refund be paid to me in full without further delay. I also request that the relevant authorities conduct the necessary inspections and impose appropriate penalties on the hotel because of the distress we experienced and the serious safety risks I observed.
