On February 9, 2026, I purchased a one-way Royal Jordanian Airlines ticket from Istanbul to Bangkok via Amman through Trip.com. My itinerary was Istanbul–Amman on March 6, 2026 at 22:10, arriving in Amman on March 7, 2026 at 00:50, followed by a connecting flight from Amman to Bangkok on March 7, 2026 at 03:35. The total amount I paid by credit card for this trip (combined with my separate return flight from Phuket to Istanbul with another airline) was approximately ₺30,000. My Trip.com reservation number is 1638319144215101. Due to the ongoing conflict in Jordan, I had serious safety concerns about transiting through Amman, especially since both my arrival and departure there were scheduled during night hours. Under these conditions I decided that it would not be safe for me to travel and, four days before my scheduled departure, I submitted a cancellation request for the Royal Jordanian ticket via Trip.com. Despite the urgency and importance of this situation, I did not receive timely or clear communication from Trip.com about the status of my request. Through my own research and by repeatedly checking the Trip.com website, I discovered that the airline had rejected my cancellation request. Trip.com did not proactively inform me of this decision, even though it was critical for me to know. After learning about the airline’s response on my own, I contacted Trip.com again and submitted another cancellation request, which was rejected six days after my original flight date, on March 12, 2026. Given these circumstances, I kindly and firmly request a full or at least partial refund of the portion of the ₺30,000 corresponding to my Istanbul–Amman–Bangkok Royal Jordanian ticket, or, if possible, the option to rebook the same route for a later and safer date under fair conditions. At minimum, I expect a detailed, clear, and respectful explanation regarding how this case was assessed and why my safety-related cancellation requests were rejected. Considering that I had to cancel my travel due to a legitimate security risk in the transit country, I respectfully urge Trip.com to urgently review my case, to act in favor of the customer, and to resolve this matter in a fair and satisfactory way.
