Tesla Model Y Roof Glass Cracked, No Warranty Support
I discovered an unexplained crack on the upper glass (roof glass) of my Tesla Model Y, just above the left door, within a month of purchasing the vehicle. Researching online, I found similar cracks originating from stress and contraction, exactly where mine occurred.
I promptly submitted a service request through the app and scheduled a service appointment for 23.11.2023. Traveling 1,000km from Giresun to the Merter Tesla Service in Istanbul, I expected a resolution.
To my dismay, the service representative dismissed the issue, claiming it was damage-related, and refusing to consider warranty coverage. Despite offering to pay for the replacement, they insisted that only warranty-covered glass could be used, leaving me stranded without a solution. They provided no documentation for their decision.
Upon consulting Otomol service, located in the same building, I was informed that they lacked the necessary glass and couldn't replace it for at least two months.
In summary, the Merter Tesla Service team failed to assist, rejected warranty coverage without a physical examination, and even with available replacement glass, refused service for non-warranty cases. The lack of proper documentation and guidance left me regretting my Tesla purchase.
