I own a 2024 Tesla Model Y, and despite being driven only 9,149 km and still under warranty, the glass roof suddenly cracked on its own—without any impact, accident, or external force. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, yet Tesla's response has been deeply disappointing.
I reported the issue through the Tesla app, only to receive an automated reply claiming it’s “not covered under warranty,” followed by a suggestion for a ₺80,000 out-of-pocket glass replacement. There was no technical inspection, no written explanation, and no one contacted me directly.
We acted in good faith, hoping Tesla would stand behind its product, but instead, we’ve been met with silence and refusal to acknowledge a serious structural issue. It’s completely unacceptable for such a premium brand to ignore a major safety concern without even conducting a proper review.
My request is simple: I expect the glass roof to be replaced free of charge under warranty. If Tesla refuses, I demand a detailed technical report justifying the rejection. Otherwise, I will pursue this matter legally and take it to the Consumer Court as I have already warned in multiple communications.
A brand like Tesla should not turn its back on loyal customers when quality issues arise. This needs to be resolved immediately.
