Superprof Misled Me Into Buying a Student Pass Instead of a Tutor Lesson
I recently signed up on Superprof to find a tutor and believed I was paying a one-time fee of $50 as the tutor fee. The way the payment page was presented made it appear that this $50 was going directly to the tutor for the lesson. After completing the payment, my tutor then charged me an additional $35, which confused me and led me to check my Superprof account again. Only then did I discover that the $50 I had paid on 6/9/2026 in the USA via credit card was actually for a monthly Student Pass subscription, not for the tutor’s fee. At no point during the payment process was this clearly communicated to me, and I feel that the service I purchased was not what was presented or implied on the platform. I consider this practice misleading, as it caused me to unknowingly subscribe to a monthly pass instead of making a straightforward payment to my tutor. I have contacted Superprof customer service about this issue but have not received any response yet. I request that the $50 Student Pass fee be cancelled and fully refunded, and that my Student Pass subscription be terminated so that I am not charged again in the future. I also expect Superprof to make the payment and subscription information much clearer to prevent other users from experiencing the same problem.
