Sunglass Hut Viaport Asya Refuses Refund for Broken Versace Sunglasses Nose Pad

2

On July 19, 2026, I purchased a pair of Versace sunglasses from the Viaport Asya Sunglass Hut store for approximately 15,000 TRY (Invoice No: 1002135). Within just 10 days of routine, careful daily wear—and without experiencing any drops, impacts, or misuse—the nose pad structure unexpectedly snapped off.

When I brought the item to the Viaport Asya branch for inspection, staff summarily dismissed the defect as "user error." Furthermore, the store informed me that the defective sunglasses would not even be returned to my possession unless I agreed to purchase a new pair at a 50% discounted rate, effectively demanding an additional 7,500 TRY to resolve a 10-day-old failure.

Extorting additional payments to replace a defective luxury item within days of purchase while unlawfully holding the physical product captive violates basic consumer protection laws regarding defective goods (Ayıplı Mal) under Law No. 6502.

I reject the unsubstantiated "user error" claim entirely. I demand a full refund of the ~15,000 TRY purchase price, the immediate release of my product, and a formal review of the predatory sales practices at the Viaport Asya branch.
