During my journey from Nashville to Toronto, Brussels and Ankara in September 2026, my large Pierre Cardin 04PC6500 hard‑shell suitcase was severely damaged on the SunExpress leg of the trip. The damage occurred on flight XQ775 from Brussels (BRU) to Ankara (ESB) on 7 September 2026, departing Brussels at 11:05 and arriving in Ankara at 15:40. I discovered the damage at baggage claim in Ankara: the outer shell was broken through in several places, with large holes exposing the inner layers, and the suitcase is no longer usable. I purchased this suitcase from Amazon Turkey in September 2023 for TRY 1,791.90. Today, the same model costs approximately TRY 4,900 to TRY 5,200, and comparable large Pierre Cardin hard‑shell suitcases are even more expensive. I submitted several clear photographs of the damage, along with the product details, proof of purchase and all other information requested by SunExpress. My case number is Sun‑10178120. Despite the extent of the damage and the current replacement cost, SunExpress offered only TRY 2,298.34 and then closed my case. No explanation was provided as to how this amount was calculated, what depreciation rate was used or why the current replacement value was not properly taken into account. The offered amount is not sufficient to buy the same suitcase or a reasonably equivalent replacement. After I objected to this offer and raised these concerns, I have not received any substantive response, and my case remains marked as closed. I am not asking to profit from this situation. I am asking SunExpress either to provide the same or an equivalent large hard‑shell suitcase, or to offer reasonable compensation that reflects the actual current replacement cost. I respectfully request that case Sun‑10178120 be reopened, that the calculation of TRY 2,298.34 be explained transparently and that the compensation be reassessed in line with today’s market prices for an equivalent suitcase. If a reasonable and fair solution is not provided, I intend to pursue the matter through the relevant consumer protection and legal channels, using my purchase record, current market prices, damage photographs and correspondence as supporting evidence.
